How much would it cost to get a 5.9 Cummins out of a 03 dodge 3500 rebuilt?

I was wandering how much it would cost to get a 2003 5.9 Cummins Diesel rebuilt. I can buy a rebuilt engine off of ebay for $5900.00. A rebuild kit is 650.00 off of ebay.

   i got a friend that does nothing but diesel engines in the dodges and he says around 5500 to fully do one right,i have never rebuilt one,but he does this for a living so if you can get one for that price that’s a good deal.good luck.
