  1. Whichever size he ordered it with. It could even have two tanks.

  2. Wait till the fuel gauge reads ½ tank, then refuel and see how many gallons it takes to fill it up. If it took 12 gallons, you have a 24-gallon tank. How ever many gallons it takes to fill the tank, you double this figure to find the size of your tank.

  3. The heavy-duty Dodge Ram 2500 3/4 ton pickup truck specs indicate that the basic model has a 34 /35 gallon fuel tank depending on the box size, according to a representative from Dodge. I also found out that there are auxiliary tanks that can be purchased such as a 40 gallon auxiliary tank. 4. All Dodge Ram Trucks with the Diesel engine are 35 gallon tanks. Period- it is the only size they used for them from 1994 through 2001 and probably through current.
The 34/35 gallon isn’t from the bed size (sorry, to correct the customer service rep at Dodge, but they’ve been wrong before…) but from the rating of the tank depending on the fuel sending unit/in tank pump/unit used. It’s the same tank, just a different capacity rating. think about it- a bed length shorter by 2 feet isn’t going to make a fuel tank smaller by only 1 gallon…. and production costs dictate that they would use only the smaller tank in both applications if the larger would not fit them all, it costs more to produce, stock, and build with different parts then it does with the same piece all around.

Dodge does not offer dual tanks and I don’t think they ever have.

Incidentally, the half tank marking on a fuel gage is almost NEVER the true half tank level because of the shapes of most tanks.- BIg Shot’s method won’t work.

  5. 36 gal is what they have>05 4×4 SWB I have put 35 gals in>And it was still running> Never again>
